Jaxon’s Newborn Session – a closer look into a newborn session with SCP.

Happy September everyone!

Whether you’re searching for a newborn photographer or have had a session with me in the past, you might wonder how I do my newborn sessions NOW!  As a photographer, my process has changed along the way….  I am pretty much trying to get better with each and every session.  I have a running list of inspirational images and typically in each session, I try for at least one new pose/image/technique to expand my learning.  This little guy, Jaxon, was SUCH a love and so I thought I’d show you what a typical newborn gallery looks like when you come visit me for a couple hours.  Most parents absolutely love sitting back, taking a break for 2.5 hours, and watching me mold and pose their beautiful new loves.  Its such a fun morning together and really is my joy and passion to give each set of new parents a beautifully crafted gallery of imagery displaying their perfect and precious newborn baby.

For Jaxon’s session, we made it mostly about him with a couple of really simple (and adorable!) photos of dad holding him at the end.  Many moms, just days after giving birth, aren’t quite up to taking pictures yet and thats totally understandable – I do encourage it for sure, but I always leave it up to you and how you’re feeling that day.  But husbands, be forewarned, if you show up and you have tattoos and a short-sleeved shirt, I will make you take some pictures!  Just something so sweet about a rough and tough dad holding their tiny little baby in the palm of their hands…

I feel so unbelievably blessed to have been given this little tiny gift to share with those around me – thank you thank you to all the new parents who have entrusted me with their little loves, even if just for a few hours, to capture these first and perfect itty bitty details….

xoxo,

Sar

Wanna see a recent full gallery? These boys were born early so 3 months old when they came into the studio for their newborn portraits right around their actual due date. Dad was back to work so luckily Grandmother came to lend a helping hand- we will ALWAYS take ANY grammy help we can have!

So much of what I do is rooted in trust. When a family comes back again and again, inviting me into new chapters of their story, it means more than I can put into words.⁣

Juliana, thank you for your kind words and for trusting me to capture such meaningful moments along the way. From pregnancy to what comes next, it is truly an honor to be part of it all.⁣
